Kevin Baker gave record service to the Glenorchy District Football Club, playing 312 games, and was
the first TFL player to reach 300 games.
He was only 16 when he moved from Buckingham to the new Glenorchy club along with a handful of Magpie stars to be including Jim Manson and Dickie Lester.
Playing in one of the games most demanding position, the ruck, he became known as one of the greats of the Glenorchy club. He always played in front where, he maintained with determination, he was able to get first use of the ball and
palm to the rovers.
Kevin represented the TFL and Tasmania on many occasions and won senior best and fairest awards in 1968, 1971 and 1972.
Kevin Baker was honoured by his selection in the New Town / Glenorchy Team of the Century which was announced in August 2000.
