During the 50's, 60's and 70's a New Norfolk team was not complete unless it contained a member of the Browning family. Three brothers, Roger (a dual William Leitch Medal winner), Barry (The Blonde Bombshell) and Tony
, also a William Leitch Medallist were synonymous with the club. Roger was the oldest of the brothers.
Roger's career was cut short by injury although during his time in football he represented the State, the TFL and won the William Leitch medal twice in 1961 and 1962.
He played 79 senior games for New Norfolk and won the club Best and Fairest from 1960 to 1963.
